Cincinnati: The Top Places to Visit in One Weekend

A flying pig atop the “flying pig bridge in Cincinnati, OH

Cincinnati, the Queen City, rising from the banks of the Ohio River, a great place to spend a weekend away…

If you’re heading to Cincinnati for a short break, this Top Places Guide will cover everything you need for a weekend of wonder! Let’s begin.

Where to Stay

For art lovers or anyone who wants a quirky place to stay, the 21c Museum Hotel is a great find. Located right in the heart of Cincinnati, next to the Contemporary Art Center and opposite the Aronoff Center for the Arts, this is an award-winning boutique hotel and restaurant. They have pet-friendly rooms, free Wi-Fi, and a spa. What more could you want?!

If you’re looking for the best-recommended hotel, then the Best Western Premier Mariemont Inn takes the number one spot. It is a boutique hotel with historic charm and excellent customer service. There is a fitness center, restaurant, and pub. What’s more, it is located near to the zoo, the Cincinnati Art Museum, and the Riverbend Music Center. There is also the Mariemont Theater close by.

Where to Eat

Of course, there’s the option of the Metropole restaurant in the 21cMuseum Hotel but there are lots of other great places to eat in Cincinnati.

The Maplewood Kitchen & Bar is a cheery place that has a vibe reminiscent of the West Coast. Then there’s the delicious Mexican place Bakersfield, where you can enjoy tacos, tortas, margaritas, and tequila! Or, you could opt for Senate, which offers gourmet versions of hot dogs, fries, and poutine that are to die for.

If it’s Italian you fancy, then Sotto is perfect! This is a wonderful place that is open on Sunday evenings when many Cincinnati restaurants are closed.

For those of you with a sweet tooth, don’t miss out on sampling Holtman’s Donuts. There’s one on Vine Street and one on Madison Road.

What to See

There’s the Contemporary Arts Center, which is certainly worth a visit. Then there’s Findlay Market in Over The Rhine that has been around since 1855. Here, you will find a hubbub of stalls, gourmet shops, restaurants, and cafés. At the weekend, there is also an outdoor farmers’ market, which has producers from all over Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky.

The Cincinnati Bell Connector, the tramway, is a fantastic way to get around the city. Vine Street is a wonderful place for a shopping expedition and has lots of independent stores.

Cincinnati has lots of excellent green spaces. In particular, you will find lots of outdoor places along the riverbank. You can even rent a Cincy Red Bike and take a ride on the cycle lane alongside the river.

For those into structures, visit the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge that leads to Covington. When it was built, in 1867, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world. It kept this title until 1883 when Roebling then built the Brooklyn Bridge in New York, which became much more famous.

So, as you can see, the home of the “flying pigs” and the famous Purple People Bridge has an array of things to do for the whole family. Cincinnati is a wonderful place to spend a little weekend getaway!

Grant Gustin Brings His Superhero Charm to Our Open Air Booth

Grant Gustin, who plays the character of Barry Allen AKA “The Flash”, attended the beautiful wedding of his sister in law, Weezy Thoma, along with his wife, LA Thoma, on June 15th, to wish her a lifetime of love and everlasting happiness. The wedding theme portrayed what can be rightly called as graceful grandeur.

Grant hinted at the wedding in his June 16 Instagram post,

https://www.instagram.com/grantgust/

“Family keeps growing. EDIT: NEW BROTHER IN LAW. Not preggo.”

If you haven’t had enough of the humor and cuteness, check out this post by his wife who also officially announced the wedding through Instagram.

https://www.instagram.com/lathoma3/

“my Weezy got married to her Matty Poo! She wore my veil, and I wore the same dress she wore at my wedding. It was perfect ❤️ welcome to the crazy fam Matt!”

This goes to show just how caring his wife’s side of the family is. Even Grant has mentioned several times to the media how big, thrilling, and fun LA Thoma’s family is.

The wedding took place at the Life Care Alliance’s Carrie’s Café decorated in shades of pink, navy, mint green, and white. Elegant decorations and contrasting colors beautifully captured the essence of the occasion. Not only that, Grant had a very big family reunion and even met distant relatives. This justified for a very special photo booth to make lasting memories for everyone.

We captured the loving moments of a beautiful occasion in a fun-filled way, using our Open Air Booth.  The happy family enjoyed a fun time using our special booth. They were great with poses and shots!

We also felt heartfelt joy for capturing everlasting memories for the loving couple, Grant and his family.

If you’re wondering whether the flash is as adorable and fun in real life as he is on tv, then you’re undeniably correct! 100% awkward and adorable! Look for yourself!

Grant’s family took up our challenge for fitting the most people inside the booth very seriously.
And of course, he opted for a DC Comics prop!

THE EVENT CENTER THAT HAS IT ALL

In a friendly town, right beside the beautiful Ohio River, sits a magnificent event center that caters to all. Weddings of any size are performed there and it is apparent that The Lawrenceburg Event Center has a mission to relieve their guests of the the stress and anxiety of planning a wedding or special occasion and to make sure that everything goes according to plan for the big day.

The Lawrenceburg Event Center is located on the state lines of Kentucky and Indiana in a quiant town in which everyone seems to know each other. When we arrived with our Big Black Photo-booth, we met Emily, the coordinator. Emily showed us where we would be setting up for Justin and Crystal’s wedding (in an L-shaped lobby by the first banquet hall) and explained to us that “…everything is inside; no matter if it is 100 degrees like today, or raining, there is never an issue.”
